For a classic week in Bali, Airalo’s 10GB, 7-day Indonesia plan (US$19) is the sweet spot: enough for Grab, maps, messaging and daily uploads without paying for days you won’t use. Lighter users can get by on 5GB for US$12. Saily’s plans run 30 days, which is handy if your week turns into ten days.

Read off airalo.com and saily.com on 4 November 2026, in US dollars. Saily sells 30-day fixed plans only (plus a 1GB, 7-day plan at US$4.79), so they are shown against Airalo’s 7-day plans. How much data a week in Bali uses
- Pool and beach week: 3–5GB. Maps, WhatsApp, a few Grab or Gojek rides and some photos.
- Busy week of day trips (Ubud, Uluwatu, Nusa Penida): about 10GB, especially if you post stories and video daily.
- Working from a Canggu café: look at unlimited, but check the daily cap and hotspot rules.
These are general estimates, not measurements. Villa and café wi-fi stretch a smaller plan.
Getting the timing right
The trick with a short trip is making the validity match your days on the ground:
- Install at home, switch on at Denpasar. Install the eSIM on wi-fi before you fly, then turn on the line and data roaming when you land.
- Count the days, not the nights. A Saturday-to-Saturday trip is 8 calendar days. If you need data at the airport on the way home, the 15-day plan (Airalo 5GB for US$13 or 10GB for US$20) can be safer than 7 days.
- Top up rather than overbuy. Both apps let you add data if you run low.

Questions travellers ask
What is the best eSIM for a week in Bali?
For a typical 7-night Bali holiday, Airalo’s 10GB, 7-day Indonesia plan (US$19) covers Grab rides, maps, messaging and daily uploads. Lighter users can drop to 5GB for US$12. Prices checked 4 November 2026.
Is a 7-day eSIM long enough for a 7-night trip?
Usually. Airalo’s validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network, so switch it on when you land, not at home. If your flight home is late on day eight, either buy the 15-day plan or top up for the last day.
Do I need an unlimited eSIM for Bali?
Most people don’t. Airalo’s 7-day unlimited plan cost US$27 on 4 November 2026 and slows to 1 Mbps after 3GB a day. It only pays off if you stream, video-call or hotspot a laptop every day.
Does a Bali eSIM work on Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands?
Yes. These are Indonesia eSIMs, so they work wherever their Indonesian networks reach, including Nusa Penida, Lombok and the Gilis. Signal can thin out on smaller islands and boats, so download offline maps first.
Which network will I be on?
Saily runs on Telkomsel’s 4G and 5G network. Airalo listed Indosat, Telkomsel and 3 for its Indonesia eSIM on 4 November 2026.
